Help We, at MapmyIndia, have a single objective - to assist you in finding a location and then provide you driving directions to that location. The MapmyIndia Help Centre has been published to provide you with help and assistance whenever you need it! It is designed to answer all your questions. MAPS How to search  •   Under the Maps tab of the top search box, type your search address in the 'Where' box and click the 'Search!' button  •   Separate different parts of the address by a comma (,) for better results  •   You can search for the following kinds of locations  Location Type  Examples States and union territories  •  Karnataka  •  Pondicherry  •  Tamilnadu  •  Delhi Cities/towns/villages  •  New Delhi  •  Gorakhpur, UP  •  Imphal, Manipur Localities  •  greater kailash 2, new delhi  •  kormangala, bangalore  •  andheri east, mumbai Streets  •  nelson mandela marg, new delhi  •  airport road, bangalore  •  mahatma gandhi road, kolkata Sub-localities  •  sector c pocket 5, vasant kunj, new delhi  •  ashok colony, ashok nagar, chennai Landmarks and points of interest (e.g. hotels, restaurants etc.)  •  gateway of india, mumbai  •  nehru apartments, kalkaji, new delhi  •  sagar ratna, malviya nagar, dl  •  oberoi, dl Found  •   When you click on 'Search!', we try to find the best result and center the map on that result. Similar results  •   Given non-standardized spellings and address formats in India, in many cases, the best result may not be what you were looking for exactly. So, we provide you with a list of 20 similar results, which could serve you better. Navigate through the 20 results by clicking on 'more results' or 'back' links. Directions from / to  •   Once you have found the map of the area you are looking for, you can get directions to that place, or from that place by clicking on the "Get Directions to here | from here" option. Find nearby  •   Also, if you are looking for points of interest (e.g. restaurants, banks, petrol pumps, cinema halls) near that area, type the name of the point or simply select from the list of categories to find nearby points. Click here to view fullsize DIRECTIONS How to search  •   Under the Directions tab of the top search box, type your search in the 'From' and the 'To' box and click the 'Go' button    •   Click to reverse 'From' and 'To' locations .  •   If you want to go from one place to another via a second location (e.g., new delhi to mumbai, via agra), click on the 'Add a via point' link and enter the via location. The all new MapmyIndia Maps lets you add upto a maximum 5 via locations en route.  •   Click to remove a via location.  •   You can enter locations in the 'From' and 'To' box similar to the way you search for maps (refer to Maps sections for examples (link to maps section search examples)). Found  •   Shows the best result that was found, along with driving distance and approximat estimated time for travel. Similar results  •   If a best match could not be determined for either or all of the 'From', 'To' and 'Via' locations, it asks you to choose from a set of 5 similar results. On selecting the one most appropriate, click on 'Search!' to repeat search.     Click here to view fullsize LOCAL How to search  •   What: Enter the type or name of a point of interest (example: Pizza or Pizza Hut) or check a category from the list below.  •   Where: Enter the address near which to search for in the "Where" box, or click on "Or, find in current map view" to search for desired point of interest. Found  •   Shows up to 20 points of interest found around the searched location, or current map view. Corresponding to the matches, markers are placed on the map. Click on the matches to center the map at the location. In the first section, results 1-10 are shown. To view 11-20, click on Next. Similar results  •   If a best match could not be determined, it asks you to choose from similar results. On selecting the one most appropriate, click on Go in the top search box to repeat search.       •   You can also search for driving directions between the point of interest and any other location in India by clicking on the location marker and filling up relevant details. Click here to view fullsize My Maps Create your own maps  •   The face of any area is constantly changing with this new coffee shop opening up here or a road being constructed there. As such, the map of an area also changes with time. Help us serve you better by giving more updated maps. Help us map your India the way you know it best.  •   Spend just 2 minutes to register at http://maps.mapmyindia.com and login to create your won maps in 4 simple steps.    Step 1. Click on control on map.   Step 2: Select your location category from the drop-menu generated.   Step 3: Mark your location on map.   Step 4: Fill in the location details and "Save". View your locations on map  •   Click on location name and view it on map.       MAP CONTROLS You can pan and zoom the map easily, in the following ways:  •   With the mouse Click and drag the map with the mouse to move it in any directions. Double click on the map to recenter the map at that location. If your mouse has a scroll wheel, scroll up to zoom in and scroll down to zoom out.  •   With the keyboard Use the arrow keys to move the map, and the +/- keys to zoom in and out.  •   Using the zoom control Click on the N/E/W/S buttons to move the map, +/- button to zoom in and out one level, and drag the slider to zoom in and out by multiple levels. Right click options  •   Right click on the map to get various options to change the map view and set start and end points for directions Map overview  •   The overview in the bottom right of the map shows you a zoomed out version of the map to give you a perspective. Double click the overview, or drag it around to move the main map to that location.  •   You can close or open the overview by clicking on the icon at the bottom right of the overview. Resizing the map  •   You can increase or decrease the width of the map by click on the arrows buttons on the left border of the map. SHARE MAP Send  •   If you want to share a certain search result with your friend or family or business partner, send link for the same through free SMS and share our maps. Link  •   You can get a permanent link to a particular map, or search result by clicking on ‘Link to Page’ and then copying the URL in the address box of your browser. Share it through chat, messenger, gtalk or place it on your blog or website.  •   We are very excited to allow you to place interactive maps on your own website or blog. Allow your visitors to see the map of a particular location and then zoom in and out, as well as move the map, directly from your own website or blog.  •   To embed the map, simply click on the Embed link and then copy the HTML code snippet into your website or blog. Email  •   You can directly email the link to a particular map or search result by clicking on the ‘Email’ link. It will open up your default e-mail client. MORE Print  •   If you want to take a print out of the map, or of the directions you have just searched for, just click on the Print Map link in the share toolbar above the map, and in the print page click on the Print link on the top right. You can even make additional notes before printing in the notes section at the bottom of the page. Free Register  •   Take 2 minutes to fill up a simple form and register at http://maps.mapmyindia.com to create your own maps. Login  •   If you are a registered user, login to create your own maps.
